Ted Williams, one of the greatest players in baseball history, makes his debut in 1939 with the Boston Red Sox. He would retire in 1960. He lost many hits, homers, and rbi's to military service.
A Baseball Player's Hall of Fame career starts with that first game. As games pile up, season by season, a Hall of Fame-worthy career emerges. This blog is a tribute to these 'famous' baseball players before they became known and loved by baseball fans. I will try to show box scores that show their debut. There may be a few non-HOF players who are still revered or collected that I will show as well. Much thanks goes to www.baseball-reference.com and www.baseball-almanac.com.
